For best results in attracting inhabitants, it is best to mount the birdhouse in a sheltered area. In hotter climates it is best placed in a cooler, shaded area. Entry hole should always be placed facing away from prevailing winds to help protect the delicate hatchlings.
This Birdhouse is handcrafted from kiln dried hardwood and exterior grade plywood. The finish is a non-toxic, water bases paint. This Birdhouse is intended for use with wildlife ad therefore no pressure-treated wood or harmful chemicals have been used.
Please expect that all products left outdoors will weather and need refinishing. Should you want to preserve the finish we suggest a polyurethane that is UV rated and good for marine use.
It is recommended that the Birdhouse be cleaned out once a year.
